About

Little Step's 2's and 3's Classroom

They’re on the move! We have a safe (and fun!) environment for toddlers to explore.

Everything in our toddler classrooms is designed for little explorers. That’s because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the place, that means they’re learning and discovery new things every day. At Little Step we put safety first to protect our families and staff.

If you’re ready for more info, we’d love for you to come visit us.

Explore the 2's and 3's Classroom

There’s something special about the toddler classroom: Everything is kid-size! We put books and toys within easy reach of little hands. Instead of waiting for an adult to bring a book over, kids can kick off storytime all on their own.

Arrival and AM Snack

OPEN – 9:30 A.M.

It’s so nice to see everyone this morning! As children arrive, they are welcomed by smiling teachers. They can eat am snack from 8:30-9:30 and play quietly while they wait for their friends to arrive

Group Time

9:30 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.

The start to our day is when we come together as a group to welcome each other and talk briefly about the day’s planned events. We will also do things like read a book out loud or sing a song!

Activity Stations

10:15 A.M.- 11:00 A.M.

Activity stations are an important part of our classrooms. This is where kids can play and explore on their own, or work together on a theme-related activity led by a teacher.

Outdoor Play

11:00 A.M. -11:30 A.M.

It’s time to go outside! Mostly little ones play on their own, using their imaginations. Outdoor time can also be part of our daily themed activity.

Lunch

 11:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M.

Time to wash our hands, help set tables, and get ready to eat lunch!

Rest Time

 12:30-3:30 P.M.

Ssshh … it’s quiet time. Most children will nap, but if they wake up (or if they never quite get to sleep), they can select different quiet activities, such as looking at books.

Supper

 3:30 P.M. – 4:30 P.M.

They’ll have a nutritious finger food supper to tie them over until they get home.

Outdoor Play and Pick Up

4:30 – 5:30 P.M.

It’s time to go outside again! They might play on their own or participate in a group activity.  It’s time for pick-up! After a busy day together, children are given the space and time to explore and play in the activity centers on their own.
